Last Saturday's Trump Flotilla, sponsored by Ancient City Boaters, was a huge success. Not only did a long parade of boats stream under the Bridge of Lions in the brilliant sunshine, but a spirited crowd lined the bridge's walkways, hoisting Trump flags, cheering on the boaters, and waving at passing vehicles. Attendees were rewarded with a chorus of enthusiastic honks from motorists throughout the rally. Supporters also took up their posts along the sea walk to watch the boats proceed from the inlet to the Bridge of Lions, from where they proceeded to the Matanzas Inlet. Thanks to all who participated and helped spread the spirit!
Voters frequently scratch their heads when looking at the list of judges who are up for a vote on their ballot. It can be hard to know a judge's philosophy or effectiveness. The conservative organization Florida Family Action has looked into the records on Florida judges and offers their endorsements in their Judicial Election Guide. Click here.
At the October 12 club meeting, Scott Beaver, Northeast Commander for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, spoke to attendees about the upcoming election of the county's new sheriff and answered diverse questions from the audience. He noted that the SJC Sheriff's Office has earned an uncommonly high approval rating of 84 percent among residents. He also spoke about, among other things, the much-needed training and communications facility now being built for local law enforcement in the area of SR 16 and I-95. Thank you, Commander Beaver, for joining us!
